Vroom! Vroom! Okay, forgive our cheesy introduction. If you’re here, chances are you’ll have your engines running and you’re ready for an exciting first date. And there’s also a good chance you’ve already decided to pick them up and drive them to the first date.
And probably at some point in that excitement you realized something – not only do you have to get ready for your first date, but you also have to get your car ready. Whether you have a long time or a moment of crushed panic, we have you covered. In this guide, we will explain 13 steps to prepare your car for the first date as a professional.
1. Fill your car with gas.
There’s nothing weirder than having to stop for gas on a first date. Because? Two reasons. Number One: Prove that you are not ready. Number two: there’s that awkward silence of them sitting in the car while you’re out there pumping. Take a moment before the date so that the car is completely full of gas.
2. Take care of avoidable maintenance.
While you can’t always avoid it, it’s important to do everything in your power to make sure your car doesn’t break down on the first date. If it happens, it happens. And if you have a slightly unreliable car, that’s it. However, this does not mean that you cannot do things under your control to limit the chances of any problems.
This includes things like:
- Check your tire pressure
- Check the oil
- Check fluid levels
- Look for anything that looks broken or dull
- Diagnose any engine control lights
And if you still think your car may have a hard time getting to and from the date, have a plan in place to handle things up. This could be roadside assistance phone numbers, towing company numbers or something to fix any probable issues.
3. Clean the inside of your car.
Going on a first date with a messy car is bad manners. Show that you didn’t care enough to try to clean your car by the date. Take a moment and take out all the rubbish, vacuum the seats and tables on the floor, clean the scripts and do something if it smells bad. Even if you are a messy person, this shows that you are willing to work hard to make your date a success.
Appearing in a dirty car is one of the worst ways to greet a girl on a first date.
4. Go to the car wash!
Yes, it is important to keep the inside of the car clean. But having a clean exterior is also important! Even if you have an older car or a batter hitting the road, you can still show that you care. If you have an appointment with someone who is trying to find out if you are able to take care of them one day, it is a pleasure to see that you can take care of a car.
5. Ensure clean and clear access to the trunk wheel.
Many times, when people clean their car for a date, they just put everything in the trunk. And while that’s better than leaving it in the back seat, it can still cause problems. We hope you don’t get a tire on your first date, but it can happen.
And if that happens, you’ll need to get your luggage in. If you open the trunk and lose pounds, you will be badly hurt. If you really need it, get a big box, put everything in it and put it in your house, garage or apartment in a closet.
6. Know how to change the spare part.
Speaking of punctured tires, they pass. It would really go a long way if you knew how to change the spare safely and correctly if this situation arises. Not only will it make you look like a great provider, but regardless of whether you are a man or a woman, many people will find the facility attractive.
7. Know the routes to get your date and to the date location.
Yes, we know that GPS has come a long way. However, it is a very smart idea to have a general idea of where you are going and how to get there as a backup. Not only does this help reduce stress, but the less you have to focus on directions, the more you can focus on your appointment.
Plus, it will help you arrive on time! We cannot stress enough the importance of being punctual. If you arrive late because you don’t know how to get there or if you have to take petrol on the way, this is not a good idea.
8. Pack your car like a pro.
Here’s one you rarely see on the lists of how to prepare your car for a date for some weird reason. Pack like a pro. Put some things in your car that can be awesome for your road trip appointment from the appointment.
For example, are you going to have a drink? You have bottles of water in your car to keep you hydrated. Are you heading to a cold place? Pack an extra blanket and sweatshirt. Do you think it could rain? Pack an umbrella. Little things like this could make you look like a thoughtful and fantastic person.
9. Set up the passenger seat so that there is room for the legs.
It doesn’t matter if your date is high or low, everyone likes legroom. Sit in the passenger seat and push it back so that when they get up, they are extremely comfortable. Don’t keep it crazy leaning back, but at least away from the script.
10. Have a music plan.
No, you do not need to make a playlist for the date (unless you want to). However, it may be advisable to choose some music or stations that set the right setting for the date. It’s probably best to stay away from overly romantic things on a first or second date. Stay with popular music, or if there is one type of music that they express they like, follow it.
And yes, you can make a playlist if you want! Please note that if you tell them that you have made a playlist, they will play each song accordingly. For example, if you make a playlist and put Your body is a wonderland of John Mayer there, they may feel uncomfortable as if you are too sexually advanced.
11. Prepare to be polite.
Depending on how you look at things, you may want to reach for the car door when you pick it up. Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either. If you think it’s something they’ll like, it can go a long way.
12. Be prepared to drive safely.
Again, this is a mental preparation that you need to be prepared for. Don’t plan on driving like a hot dog on your first date. In fact, you should plan to be too careful and safe to make your appointment safe. You might think that going fast and driving crazy is great, but it really isn’t. No matter how you drive, save it for when you’re driving alone or after your date shares your love for The fast and the furious.
13. Unsynchronize your car phone.
If you have your phone set up to handle all calls and even text messages on the car screen, this could be a problem. This is especially true if you’re dating or talking to other people who may not know you have a date. Just turn off Bluetooth or don’t connect your phone to your car to save you the hassle of having to explain something.
The bottom line
Preparing the car for the appointment shouldn’t take you too long, but it’s an important step for a great first date. Ideally, you should take good care of your car so that the preparation is just a few touches. If not here’s a new product just for you!
Have fun with the speed racer!
