Am I ready to go out again?

This is a common question I get from potential customers every day when they call me or fill out my online dating questionnaire.

Can I answer this after a 10-minute chat with the person? Yes. I can. How? Am I particularly intuitive or do I have juju? I’m definitely intuitive and after 25 years as a dating counselor, I can tell if they are ready or not to jump into this exciting and terrifying dating group!

I’ve included my two-minute dating tips video that goes along with this topic, so keep reading — or tune in for 2 minutes (I think anything over 2 minutes makes me drowsy– –this Week I quickly moved forward through a doctor talking about a miracle meal for 30 minutes only for the big revelation at 29:13 (29 minutes !!!! UGH) with the answer: his dear bone broth! I sent the link to my health … conscious friends with spoiler alert —- “Look if you want — but the answer is Bone Broth” —– OMG “Really? I think it would sell a lot more by giving the answer in 2 minutes.”

Here we come:

1. Single and just finished an LTR. Now, this could be 17 years, 2 years or 6 months (if you are 22 years old). So, I come up with ideas, and to see them flush it out, it’s really fun. If it’s 50/50 or even 40/60, yes, you’re ready.

2. You have just finished a long marriage of, say, 20 or 25 years. Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either. But here’s exactly what I have in mind: holding hands and browsing with you on all aspects of online dating. You’re probably 40 or 50 years old … and the answer to the big question is YES! There are men and women looking for someone in their age group. Was it a friendly divorce? Or hard and tough with negotiations? It doesn’t really matter — what does it matter if you can go out without throwing a divorce horror story at your date — if YES, you’re ready!

3. See. This tends to be more common in my clients between the ages of 50 and 70. I can only answer this after a call of about 15 minutes. I need to hear what your marriage was like, how long you were widowed, what you do in your free time and I just listen. I’ll give you an example (the video you saw was shot 10 days ago). This week I received 4 calls from widows. A 65-year-old gentleman was gregarious and he and his wife had been very sociable. He was fully prepared and already had his first date last night. Two 50-year-old women I spoke to had gone through the mourning process and were ready for rock and roll. The last call, a charming 68-year-old man, was widowed two months ago and during our call it became clear that he was not fully prepared. I will keep in touch with him — I never push people — but my instinct is that in 6-9 months he will be ready.

There is no single answer! The best thing you can do is pick up the phone and call me at 702-494-7344 for an honest evaluation. I think there is a lid for each pot !!!

Life, love and laughter, Andrea
